It was only downhill from here with her attention span. The more information the Professor spouted was the further her mind drifted. A typical reaction really. If it wasn't something of special interest to her, Jessa often found it difficult to keep her focus long enough. The girl could sit and inhale copious amounts of information at a time but .......not on stars necessarily.
Just no.
It wasn't until the man was about half way through explaining the spell that the Ravenclaw finally caught on.
Oh, they were moving the lesson. Jessa straightened in her seat, looking about as everyone got ready to begin...practising? Practising. By the sounds of it she wasn't so behind on the lesson afterall. The only thing was...this was a new spell for her. Not keeping up with Astronomy, she didn't try to learn these spells before the lesson in which they were introduced. It made this a unique instance as she was currently trying to relearn the spells she already did, non-verbally.
Did she...just....learn this one non-verbally and be done with it? Go through the same verbal process before trying it non-verbally? Seemed like it would only add another to her long list of spells to be relearned later and that wasn't exactly what she was going for.

Jessa drew her wand and began tracing the wand motion over and over. Occasionally, she repeated the incantation 'stellaris' but it was more to have a running feel for the incantation and to have it running through her mind than to get the word right. The young girl was still uncertain of whether she'd go ahead and try it non-verbally first so this quite time in which she muttered to herself was spent running over the pros and cons.
The thought was almost distracting, making it a good thing this was only practice and they wouldn't be needing to cast just yet...but she knew that time was coming and then she'd have to make up her mind.
