Well that hadn't gone completely as planned but not completely against the plan either.

"Thanks Stas!" Char hollered, when the younger girl jumped in to help. But she couldn't pause for too long. Charlotte redoubled her attack, making it a combo this time, and non-verbal because it was easier to do that if you were tangling with so many incantations at once.

So it was Glacius Persequoris Skrewt's belly this time, and a shot of ice at the skrewt's unprotected and vulnerable underside, with the homing spell to help be sure it got there, and the added oomph of the isa rune to help the freezing spell do its thing. A second blast of the same followed the first, but at a different Skrewt. Char didn't spare a glance for the Headmistress when she spoke out but she kept it in mind: she was going to be as humane as possible! No hurting the skrewts! But freezing them a bit could certainly stop them in their tracks.
