Runnin' - Beyonce: Maisie’s mother was selfish. She was the most selfish person Maisie had ever met.

It was the second night Maisie had been left alone. Her bedroom walls were empty. She didn’t have art or posters any more. The little girl was hungry. She was afraid to go downstairs and see whether there was food.

A notebook lay on the bed. Maisie reached for it. It was nearly full. Journeys into a world of knights and swords. It was away from where she was so she called it Home. When her Knight of the Tower had to return to the real world, she called it Away. She flipped to the cover page. “Home and Away” emblazoned in deep blue ink. It shone with glitter. With her favourite pen, she continued her journey to Somewhere She Could Win.
