The young witch nodded when the Divination professor mentioned cartomancy. "Cartomancy is the method of Divination that I feel most comfortable with. I'm not interested in palmistry or scrying via crystal balls. However, in the future, I'd like to scry using mirrors."

Swallowing down some more dessert Laurel nodded "Yes, the elves here are quite the cooks. Does your parents cook good food too when you are home between the school years?" She never passed up the opportunity to get to know her students better, especially when they visited her in her office.

Understanding Laurel responded. "I see, then let's try to come up with a suitable cartomancy task together for you that you can do. Have you tried giving your friends or your parents even tarot readings, meaning have you read their cards?"

SPOILER!!: Kay

"Yes, of course.'' Perhaps Laurel had forgotten that she still lived with her dad. Kay was slightly impatient for Laurel to begin the reading but she didn't push her. The would be only too rude. "You can tell me whatever results you get.''
Needless to say this was a nerve wracking.

The total and complete trust that Kay had for her and her predictions showed in her eyes and how she without hesitation put forth her right hand. Laurel guessed though that even Kay seemed cool on the outside she was probably very nervous on the inside.

Gently taking her friends hand Laurel closed her eyes for moment to focus her Eye before she opened them to look down at the lines in Kay's hand. She saw immediately what she had hoped not to see. Raising her gaze to meet Kay's she still held Kay's hand in both hers as said quietly. "I see many broken lines here. It means much emotional trauma is to come and possible even death to someone very close to you."

"I'm so sorry Kay but everything I can read from your palm lines predicts that your father is not going to survive the disease that ails him. He is going to die....." Feeling an uneasy knot form in the pit of her stomach right as the word die left her mouth Laurel stopped talking. This was not news she had wanted to give her friend at all.

SPOILER!!: Julie

What about when an emergency happened? Did Professor Vance have some secret way to get down to the Slytherins in a timely fashion? and what was wrong with living in the dungeons anyway? Julie loved it with her whole heart and soul..

Standing with her arms neatly crossed behind her back, Julie decided finally on knocking. She raised her fist and knocked thrice on the, er, door and began her wait.

With a wagon full of scrying supplies rolling behind her after a successful lesson with the youngest years Laurel turned into the corridor that led to her office. Spotting Julie Bellaire standing next to her office door she strode forwards her staff robes billowing behind her. Hopefully something wasn't amiss in the dungeons?

Coming up behind Julie she called out as she stopped a few meters away to not make the girl jump in fright or in the worst case turn and hex her. "Good afternoon Julie! Are you looking for me?"
