Remy nodded as he listened to all of the answers and the Professor’s replies, noting down a few more words and phrases that he liked. As the Professor moved on to his description, Remy took more in depth notes from the board, making sure to include anything that could be important. Severing Charm and the Flipnsnipwitit alternative. Got it. Mostly. He still wasn’t sure he was going to be any good at this …. But hard work and repetition had never scared him away.

With a centre Black square and an orange pumpkin, Remy decided to keep going with the theme; hoping that there would be black or orange (perhaps both) fabrics so that he didn’t need to have something horrible and clashing. Perhaps red would work… maybe… maybe.

Getting to his feet, the seventh year walked to the front of the class, hoping to grab the black fabric before anyone else could get their sticky hands on it. Looking over the shoulder of a first year, he quickly reached down to pick up the black fabric, hoping that he could get eight squares out of it… Or at least four.

Moving back to his desk, Remy sat down and placed his original square against the new black fabric. Lining up two of the edges, he held it in place over the pumpkin before raising his wand to try the first charm. ”Flipnsnipwitit!” He said, accenting the syllables and consonants he carefully cut against the other two edges of his original square to make a second, size identical black square. With a grin, he repeated this a second, third and then a fourth time. Well, he liked that charm…. Even the name was cool!
