There were lots of things going on around her, but Maddie had been distracted on Derf, as the professor tending to the boy's injuries. Maddie couldn't bear to talk to Derf, as just the sight of someone injuring themselves like that made her stomach do tiny flips. So the first year just nodded when the older Badger talked to her. Pretty soon, she was finished with what was probably the messiest set of stitches anybody had ever seen. Oh, well, It was a success...maybe. It might also fall apart the first time somebody picked it up.

Moving on...

OHHH, A RIDDLE?! Maddie loved the thought of a riddle, even though this one seemed a little hard. She was just learning all her charms, so it was a little more difficult than just figuring out a riddle. Nevertheless, she agreed with what a few others were saying. Raising her hand, she said, "I think it's the Severing Charm, too." A Gryffindor girl (Shayla) had said something that got Maddie to thinking, too...could the professor know a completely different spell meant just for sewing? If so, Maddie would probably never guess that one.
