Remy nodded at the answer he was given about the charm holding its own stitches, or there was the option to use an additional knot if needed. Okay, that was simple enough. Perfect. He could totally so that if he needed too - though, fingers crossed he didn't have any stupid accidents where he needed too. Listening to the words, the Seventh year tried to figure out what the Professor was talking about and the severing charm seemed to be the only charm he knew of that came to mind that could cut ties and that would or could be linked to sewing. Afterall, the diffindo charm was originally created to cut material and fabrics... even if it the intentions behind ts use had been edited and mutated over the centuries.
