As she made her way inside her own office and closed the door, she was rather surprised that Zoryn wasn't pressing her face against her glass curio cabinets or messing with her gramophone. But, at the same time, she was relieved. She was even a bit relieved at the absurd question that came out of the girl's mouth.
"No, Miss Spinnet, I don't have a secret swimming pool," she responded, a bit of lightheartedness in the tone of her voice, as she took her seat behind the desk. She said no more on that matter. What was actually upstairs would forever remain a mystery to the young Gryffindor. Not that there was anything terribly exciting up there anyway.
Her hand was placed on her chin while she carried on with her suggestions. They were ... well ... very Zoryn. Regardless, Regina remained quiet and let the girl speak. There was a bit of a pause when the girl was finished, more for show than anything as she already knew her responses.
"We'll keeping the House tables as they are, Miss Spinnet. They've been separated like that since the school was founded. It's tradition, even if we are more lenient today with seating arrangements for the most part." There was a bit of a pause for that to sink in. "As for your ice cream needs in your common room, that would be something to take up with your Head of House." If he was willing to clean up after them (unsupervised Gryffindors with an ice cream machine was bound to get messy), then so be it.
"There isn't much that can be done about morning classes. Everyone has them and goes to them. It's better to just get them over with right away rather than have you all have to sit through lessons until the middle of the night, don't you think? ... And I'm sorry if professors having the same last surname are confusing to you, but we don't discriminate against one's name when it comes to being on staff. It's just something you'll have to figure out by using the context of your conversation."
The woman made a quick glance over at her hourglass. There was still plenty of sand in it that needed to go down. "Is there anything else, Miss Spinnet?" Dare she even ask that question? …………
Hawthorne didn’t have a secret swimming pool??????????
HMMMmmmmMMmmMmMMmmmmmmMMMMMMMM….. Zoryn looked at the older woman SKEPTICALLY. Was she lying? “Then what’s up there?” she asked pointing upwards with her index finger. It was the third year's way of challenging the woman in order to figure out what the REAL truth was. MHM. Zoryn Spinnet NEEDED to know. ‘Cause what was the point of being Headmistress if you didn’t get cool stuff? “Professor Hirsch said you’ve got the most luxurious office,” she nodded. “Everyone’s jealous.” She may have been, er, paraphrasing here. BUT STILL. “No offense, ma’am, but some times traditions are kinda pointless. Everything’s goes out of style eventually.” It was true. Hawthorne should know that better than anybody since she’s been alive for SO long and has probably seen TONS of different trends go in and out of style. Zoryn nodded very professionally here. “Hmm, okay! I’ll tell Professor Marchand.” Since Hawthorne CLEARLY approved, Professor M probably wouldn’t have a problem with it. “Actually, I’ve got an answer for that too,” yes, she had been thinking about this for a very long time. “We should probably just cancel some classes all together to make more time in our days. ‘Sides, how has astronomy got any real life application?” If people wanted to be astronauts they had to go to some sort of university for it anyways. Mhm. And as for the name thing, Zor had a feeling Hawthorne wouldn’t actually be able to do anything about it yet. But voicing the complaint meant that the Headmistress was aware and now she probably would pay SUPER close attention when hiring new staff.
See, it was all a mind game.
“Actually now that you bring it up, there is,” Zoryn could go on all day tbh. “The staircase in the Gryffindor Common Room is broken cause it won’t let Théo up to see my room,” it was a serious issue. The other one worked fine though, ‘cause Zoryn was always able to get to his.
