Maddie bounced in place just a little as the PERFECT question came to mind. She'd laid out her plastic letters and sprinkled bird seed over them. Now all she needed to do was ask her question, release the Hufflepuff bird, and then hope he agreed with her on this yes or now question. "So you ready to do this, uhhh..." What was his name again? Artreyu? Something like that. She was still wishing they'd ended up with one of the birds with an easier name to say. "...Artreyu?" she finished, but the name came out as more of a question. "Artie? Can I call you that?" she asked the bird. "Artie?" She paused. She hadn't been pecked or had any bird seed angrily thrown at her, so she guessed that answer was yes.

She looked down at the piled bird seed once again then drew in a deep breath. "Okay, Artie...I have a question for you. Will I...be able to EAT A DOUGHNUT tomorrow?" she asked. See--the perfect question, just as she'd thought. Maddie released Artie and immediately began pointing to the bird seed she'd piled up. Come and GET IT, ARTIE!!!! The bird kind of eyed the seed, and for a moment, Maddie was almost sure it wasn't interested in eating. How anti-climatic. She sighed, but just as she did so, the bird pounced on the N-O food and began chowing down. "No? The answer is no?" she asked. "But...why?!" What was so wrong with wanting a doughnut!?
