Maddie wiped a bit more of the blood off her face then made sure to step away a little so it wouldn't fall on her again. On a scale of one to ten, this was a four thousand. Eww. Double Ewww. She nodded when Patrick asked if she was okay. "I'm fine. Just disgusted and feeling in need of a shower, but I'm good," she said. If she could see her forehead right now, she'd scourgify herself.

People were planning on getting a professor, which seemed like a good idea to Maddie. It didn't take her long to figure out that this hawk hadn't always been there. "Kind of looks like the Thunderbird mascot at Ilvermorny," she pointed out. Hadn't she heard that Ilvermorny had visited the castle last school year? Maybe one of them left it. "I'll stay here and keep watch," she said, and of course that meant staying out of the blood's pathway. If anybody wanted to stay here with her, she was perfectly fine with that, too, since...yeah...blood.
