Then Ace spoke a completely different language?
Vi blinked. "Come again?" Say whaaaaat? She didn't follow... at all. Blue eyes blinked once more. She glanced away, looking at the plants around them, not knowing which one was Heteranthera Zor-something something. Vi began walking past the plants, peering at the little signs next to them. "Is there a photo in the textbook?" she asked, returning to Ace's side once more. "Yeah Muggle scientific names, like for Stargrass its Heteranthera zosterifolia...." Pictures? "Oh yeah here...." the Curly Top shifted his book to the Gravity Tester turned Space Invader of which he definitely has NO complaints. "The thing is sometimes images from the book dont look quite the same as the actual plant, so I usually just go by the labels..... hopefully Healer Reed keeps a very accurate cataloging around here...." which he was fairly confident the man did.
It was now a case of reading labels-- labels that read like a kneazle was let loose on a keyboard-- so for Ace he was just walking around and finding a set of letters that were strung together similar to what was listed on the book. "Can you imagine trying to remember all these names instead of common names like Rose or Corn...." he snickered. Then again if he was gonna take Potions for a degree, as he mused about at times, this is whats waiting for him. Whoopeedoo. Maybe he should join up with that Latin Club.
And then he found something-- a string of letters starting with an H arranged and reads as Heteranthera zosterifolia. "There it is!" he beamed. It was almost like winning a lottery finally being able to stop reading labels that sounded gibberish. He handed Vi the textbook for visual confirmation of the image, meanwhile he busied himself setting up their weight scale and their collection bowls. "These bowls weigh 70g in and of itself, so if we need to have 32g worth of Stargrass, we should keep piling on the leaves until our scale reads.... 102g. Right?" |
