Or well, actually, she had no idea. She didn't talk to Olivia enough to know, but she DID see them in classes and around the castle.
BUT the outburst from the ghost though did catch Skylar off guard and pulled her thoughts away from Olivia and back at the ghost. Was it that obvious that she was lying? Merlin, she had to work on this game clearly. And then the tempo changed; Myrtle REMEMBERED her!! "Of course, yes, I came to check on you. I do have a full course load plus many extracurriculars, but you're always in my thoughts." Surely as a former Ravenclaw, she could appreciate when one put their studies first. "Would it help if I tried to visit here after Arithmancy classes?" It would be most convenient and last thing she wanted was an emotionally sensitive ghost on her bad side.
She offered a comforting smile as well.
Vi froze as Myrtle howled once more at her and Skylar. Well it seemed as if it was mostly directed to Skylar but a good fraction of it still was directed at her. She couldn't help but shiver slightly at it. It was as if spider or something was crawling down her back really slowly and just making the hairs on her skin stand up.
The Gryffindor remained silent watching the ghost's temperament change like a wave crashing upon the sandy beach. One moment upset, the next... happy? Smiles and all. Merlin. She just nodded and offered the ghost a smile, letting Skylar and Myrtle have their much needed reunion. "
People are silly," offered Olivia with a nod. Then she added with a genuine smile, "
And if people don't wish to be friends with you, then they are missing out." Vi had to learn this the hard way at Beauxbatons... She had gotten into a group of friends that weren't really 'her' people. They didn't really care about her. They just cared about appearances. When Olivia tried to be herself, they didn't like it so the young Gryffindor had turned herself inside out and more to try to fit in. Then one day, she decided it wasn't worth it anymore and tried to be herself. This time it worked and she met people that accepted her for who she was. And the people that didn't? As she mentioned to the ghost earlier, they weren't worth it in her eyes.
