Scarlett couldn't believe she had only TWO MORE YEARS of school to go. Her OWL results had been impressive, as she had expected - but it was hard to get excited when she knew it didn't really MATTER. After all, NEWTs were what employers really got excited about. Or maybe she'd go to uni after school - ugh, she hated thinking about the future. She wished she could be like other people and just turn that part of her brain OFF.

The train was regrettably already full, so it looked like she was going to have to buddy up with someone. She turned into the nearest compartment and saw an older girl in there - her name was Charlotte, if she remembered correctly. She didn't think she had ever talked to her, though. Ah well. Time to make friends!

"Hey! Mind if I join you?" she asked her with a smile.
