He too watched their host arrive, listened to what the man had to say, and took the envelope that was handed to them. Once the word 'curses' was mentioned, Albert's glare turned towards the man, and then to the pyramids that was oh so far away for his knees. "Still, I hope you're well-versed with your Runes young man." He then looked at the camels who can only sit one person, and a collection of water bottles and headscarves in front of it. Without a word, he took two bottles and two headscarves from the crate, and handed it to Aramis. Raising up a hand, he walked from camel to camel looking at each straight in the eyes, trying to feel which one would best suit Aramis. "This one," he said tapping the neck of the camel and gestured Aramis to come closer. "Cast a feather-light charm on yourself, ride the camel and meet me there." he said giving the Giza Pyramids a glance. "The people of Egypt use camels for racing, so if you can manage to make it run, do it." Albert said, quickly switching his language to German so only Aramis can understand. He didn't doubt his son with this task, given that he'd grown up in a grove filled with winged horses. The boy can ride any creature, he was sure of that.
As for him, he got his trick up his sleeve. Retrieving the water bottle from Aramis, Albert drank mouthfuls of water, and placed it inside one of the bags hanging from the camel's saddle. "Why don't we race each other then, yes?" Should be fun. Aramis grinned at his father as he spoke, "Don't worry Dad, as long as we aren't out here using Artithmancy, I think we will be okay. " He said with an easy grin. And he didn't mean the curse breaking stuff, he knew that. The normal Arithmancy is what he had issues with. He was pretty sure his NEWT score would reflect that.
The boy took the headscarves and the water bottles from his father and followed him towards the camels. He watched as the older man looked at the camels, he knew what he was doing and he trusted his judgment completely. His Dad worked with dragons after all, surely he would be able to tell which Camel would suit him.
Aramis nodded as his father instructed him what to do, and he had nonverbally cast a feather light charm on himself before his father had stopped speaking. The language switch made him listen closer though and he smiled and gave the man a wink.. "On it. " He said as he scrambled up onto the camel and took the reins.. this would be fun. He grinned as he looked down at his father as he took a drink of water and nodded.
The boy wrapped the scarf around his neck and nodded. "Let's race Dad!" He said as he started to turn the camel toward the Pyramid. |
