Albert stood from his seat and eyed their portkey with obvious disgust. "This is madness..." he muttered under his breath, quickly giving Aramis a glance, then back to the object. "Apparating would've been much easier," he added taking in a deep breath and zipped up his jacket with great panache. "Very well then, let's get this over with." With confidence and a stiff upper lip, Albert extended his hand towards their portkey, his delicate fingers hovering over a few millimeters away from their key. "Remember, Aramis, be on your guard once we land. We don't know if our portkey's rigged..." Perhaps, as part of the Race's twist? With a sly grin, he added "I'll see you in Egypt." and finally touched their key.
And so, their adventure begins. Aramis was trying to hold back laughter, which grew even more difficult as his dad smirked at him. Ohh he would have some stories to tell his mother and sister when they got home. Though.. Aramis wrinkled his nose at the thought of his elder sister. Perhaps they could leave a few things out the stories they told her? Lest he wake up and find a toliet seat in his bed! "I'm sure you didn't Father. " But he did have to touch the thing!
The dark green eyed boy was trying to smother as much laughter as he could as his father stood up and eyed the seat like it was a dead snake. Or a rainy day even, "It would have been easier but where's the fun in that? " He said as he jiggled the seat at his Father, who was taking his sweet time.
It wasn't that bad! And they could clean off their hands when they got to Egypt!
He nodded as his father spoke one last time before he touched the portkey. "Don't worry Dad, I'll be on my guard. " The lanky boy grinned as his father finally touched the seat and he felt a tugging somewhere around his navel! Off they went to start their adventure. |
