River sat back, as he looked at his plate with an amused look, allowing Regina to hiss every word of a threat to Paul. The Healer had to put his index finger on his lips to stop himself from laughing and gave the Deputy Headmaster a long glance considering his situation. "Would you like a dose of Calming Draught for that?" Too bad the elves now has to deal with his snot after the Feast is over.
River looked up and watched Regina sashayed towards the podium, and waited with the rest of the school for her speech. The Healer followed suit in applauding here and there, giving approving nods towards the people mentioned, as well as to the Graduating Class of 2093. It was always a bittersweet moment to behold...and speaking of bittersweet, River subconsciously waited for Paul to do another round of dramatic bawling. He sure loved those kids.
As per tradition, once the speech was over, food magically appeared on their table. River simultaneously grabbed his napkin to place on his lap and started to cut a piece off of his lamb chops. He turned his head to his left to hear what Rose had to say and nodded first in response. "I don't know about Kalen, but I do have a very busy summer ahead. I'm off to Japan with Jace for Roscoe and Bumi's Rescue Training...a quick visit to Germany care of Roderik, Wingsuit Flying with old friends in Brasil, and then back to England...for a surprise," he said, quickly glancing to where Camilla was. She had a rollercoaster ride this term, and he'd been there to witness everything so the woman deserved a good time. Scotty. "Hah. That doesn't sound as bad as Rod, Nicky." River gave Roderik the same look with a smirk, and a gesture of his head towards the German letter in his hand. He didn't have to be fluent in his mother tongue to figure out what Nicky stood for. "Also," River swallowed his food and continued to harass his bestie, "I would love to get to know your mummy as well. I wonder if she's got more secrets to tell." And...The Private Life of Roderik Nikolas Hirsch? Please. River could only laugh and slam his fist against his chest. His visit to Germany would be epic. He can already tell!
Still red in the face, and grinning, River leaned over his plate once more to take a good look at Tristan. Well, he did not expect that much information, but more details, the better. Plus, it came from a creatures expert so that was a huge bonus as well. "Oh, they would love you for mentioning lamb! Especially Bumi. He's a bit picky with his food." Chicken and fish though, he should consider next. "I'm giving them Omega-3 supplements though...is that okay or should I switch their diet strictly to fish and chicken to get the good heart stuff?" Questions, he's got one of those of course.
And while he was conversing with Tristan, he could not help but overhear his conversation with Roderik about a certain Gryffindor girl. River stopped eating, and placed his fork and knife on the edge of his plate. "You two aren't talking about the same Gryffindor who asked me about..." He gave Roderik a look, because, of course, he told him about it. River was sure too that his best bud had been cornered too at some point. Head of House and all. Merlin, straightening all the misinterpreted information about that topic had been a nightmare. Hopefully, things were clear enough for that little girl. River turned to search for Emmeline among the Gryffindors, and gave her a grin when he caught her gaze.
