It had taken Sam far less time to pack than it had done to haul her borrowed books back to the Common Room and school libraries, even with using magic to save her arms. All she had left was some remnants of birthday cake for the train, and her birthday flowers that she wasn't quite sure how to transport efficiently. Maybe she'd send them ahead with Wasabi.
Entering the Great Hall, Sam gave a small smile. Of the people already sat at the Ravenclaw table, three were moving on, and she knew there were others. It was never easy, seeing people leave, but it was getting harder every year, as graduation took the people she was closest to. She already knew this time next year would suck, and she briefly ran her gaze along the Gryffindor table, searching out her bestie.
Back at the Ravenclaw table, it was a bit of a surprise to see Mason without a book. And if she could have somehow read Mason's mind about friends, she would have corrected him. She considered herself one of his friends too. "Whatever you turn yeh mind to, you'll be great," Sam said, catching his reply to Louise as she headed along the table. "You too, Louise. You did great in IMPs. 'ope you enjoyed yeh stay will us."
Slipping into the seat alongside Kitty, Sam gave a crooked grin at the compliment about their IMPs achievements. "You don't think I was awesome too, freezing 'alf to death in that cage?" She nudged the Prefect lightly with an elbow. Since the completion of her OWLs, her nightmares involving examiners and that Arctic tundra had ceased, hopefully never to return. And Derf's homemade chocolate frog card for the birthday had reaffirmed why she'd done it in the first place: loyalty and bravery.
Before to got to say much to her dorm mate, Cassie, the Headboy had arrived. "Thanks, Rooney," she said, taking one of his cards. Something to put on her noticeboard next year. "Wanna sign it for me?" For when he was all famous and such.
