"If it turns out right, you can have it and the antidote," unless she wanted the effects for a few hours. Not that Althea expected the potion to turn out right. She sighed at that thought; she wasn't confident in her brewing capabilities, and while she could harass Levi to help her out, she didn't want to. Mostly because she was always anxious whenever she saw him - constantly worrying over her older brother's well-being had taken its toll on the girl - and also because she was always running to him or Declan for things. She wanted to at least try for herself.
Five minutes had passed before she realized, and Althea went back to work. At last she was ready to add the newt larvae; she made sure to count out ten and dropped them into the cauldron carefully. With this line of work there was a certain finesse and grace in adding ingredients. Althea didn't have this ability, though she tried all the same. The once muddy liquid was now clear - resembling water - and Althea smiled at it. "I guess I can add this one successful potion to my resume," she joked, and continued to look at the liquid in disbelief. Before she got too ahead of herself, the fifth year checked the instructions again. Nodding at each step, she then reached out for the Alihosty leaves and thought about which happy memory to use.
Now this was proving difficult, as her happy memories had been pushed far back in place of unhappy ones, but Althea would not be deterred. She thought back to last summer, when Takeru had been adopted officially, and laughed - again, potioneering was a strange art - while adding the leaves. She'd originally planned on pouring half of the base out to use as the antidote, but figured that she might as well do the potion again so she had enough of each. Althea went and grabbed a second cauldron, cleaned it well, and remade the base for the Emotional Change potion. It didn't feel like it took long the second time, as she'd just done the steps not too long ago.
Once complete, the Hufflepuff looked at both liquids. The Emotional Change potion had finally turned a bright pink, while the base remained clear as water. Satisfied with her work, Althea poured the potion and antidote into some phials and made sure to label them properly before moving to clean up her work station.
