| Post Three: Amortentia / Aggrotentia Zombie Apocalypse Team Leader ★ ★ in a crown of pepperoni and artisan cheese Turning the flame up to the max with just a few turns of her wand, Olivia revisited those sneezewort heads. What was interesting about this potion...was that everything seemed to be in measures of eight. Hard to explain, but the blonde found that extremely interesting. Like, was there a magical reason everything was balanced out in that way? Even the stirring needed to be done eight times. It seriously made her wonder. Also, a metal rod.....That was specific, wasn't it? Never fear, she had one of those. Let her just... Yes, finding her felt case with her knives and rods, she pulled the metal one, cleaning it before setting it aside. The heads needed to be added first. So, after doing that bit, Liv dipped the rod down into the cauldron, carefully stirring it eight times in the clockwise (and RIGHT) direction.... Could you tell she hated counter-clockwise? Hm? "That's a very interesting choice, mhm." Olivia's bright blue eyes shifted away from her cauldron as she sought out her friend's pretty face. Interesting, indeed. "Think you could spare a few phials for a dear friend?" ....Seriously, though. We were talking severity here. Olivia was a critical case.
Right...back to these berries. And surprise, surprise...eight atropa belladonna berries were required, to be dropped in individually. Not for the first time, Olivia wondered if these procedure steps actually held purposes. Like, was there a reason they needed to be added, one by one? Would the cauldron melt and/or explode?....Luckily, Liv wasn't in the mood to find out today and did as was instructed, taking her time in adding each berry. Without missing a beat, she moved directly on to the alihotsy leaves, which had been also been prepared in the before time. Serious time saver. 10/10 would recommend. The sprinkling them into the cauldron was a bit tricky and just in case they somehow seeped their toxins into her bloodstream just by touch (fyi, she didn't feel like being hysterical today), Olivia carefully slipped on her gloves. There, now she could commence with the sprinkling...
More oddly specific clockwise nonsense....sprinkle sprinkle....sprinkle sprinkle....
Right, it t'was time for her to wave her wand. So, poising it over concoction, she did just that. The wave, just so you know, was a very determined, concentrated one. SO serious.....and the potion DID turn a dark blood red. So, apparently, she wasn't flubbing this up too much. Thanks for that confidence boost, ye old potion. However, she found there was some frustration with having to wait 25 minutes. Ugh, why didn't she own a copper cauldron?.....Oh, right. She wasn't that into brewing potions. Duh. She'd forgotten.
While she waited, the instructions suggested breaking that ashwinder egg into....you guessed it...eight pieces. So to control how the egg broke, because this was something she had some experience with doing as many arts and crafts, she simply took her pairing knife and carved out grooves into the sides of the frozen egg. That way, when she applied pressure, it would break accordingly.... Her mum had taught her this. No one should ever bet against Marilyn Romalotti.
