Emmeline had been super ready for this, mhm. She expected it to be at least similar to her duel with Stasya had been, but she had forgotten to think about what sorts of spells a boy would cast, and she regretted it almost immediately. She didn't know how to block unfriendly spells with magic; she normally just dodged them. Plus, there weren't any spells like that on the first year list anyway. She really, really wished there were though, 'cause even though she tried to move away from Eddie's first hex, she wasn't fast enough and it totally still caught her in the stomach! At first she wasn't sure what was happening with her stomach. She felt all sick like when she was super nervous but WORSE. The first year fell on her knees and retched a couple of times before the first ICKY SLUG appeared!
She hadn't even known such a gross, disgusting spell existed! But it did, and it was so awful. She was throwing up slugs! Not baby ones either. Big, slimy, GROSS slugs! And and, she didn't even have time to pull herself together to attempt a spell back before Eddie hit her with another hex. At first she wasn't sure it had done anything, though her feet felt a bit weird. A few slugs later, Emmeline realized that her toenails were growing!!! What kind of icky spells did this boy know?! Since she was STILL throwing up the icky slugs, the Gryffindor toed off her shoes and pulled her socks off with one hand between slugs coming out of her mouth. She spared a glance at her feet and yup, this boy was definitely making her toenails grow. Ew ew ewww! She had NO idea how to stop it either, but hexing someone TWICE with super gross spells right after each other was just MEAN. She understood wanting to win a duel, but there were plenty of good hexes on that list that weren't disgusting. If he wanted gross, though, she'd give him gross.
She wasn't just going to sit there and wait for the slugs to stop, nope. As soon as she'd gotten her socks off, she grabbed the biggest, slimiest slug of the lot and chucked it at Eddie's head. She held her wand in her left hand temporarily so that she could try to aim better with her right hand. And she didn't stop with one, either. As she was still throwing the nasty slugs up, she picked several of them off the ground and threw them at Eddie as hard as she could. Honestly, she didn't even pause to see if she hit him or not. She just wanted to distract him and NOT be a sitting duck, you know? So she was going to keep throwing slugs at him until they stopped coming out of her mouth. See how he liked them!
