Flying. It was only the most AWESOME class ever OF ALL TIME. Zoryn was SO ready. SO ready that she had accidentally made her way to the pitch very early. Oh. No one else was here yet? Though, she didn't really mind all that much. Just meant she could have her first pick of one of the school brooms (her parents still weren't entirely convinced that buying her one of her own was such a great idea). "Hiiiiii!" she waved to their flying instructor/groundskeeper. "I'm SO excited to get up in the air today, sir!"

The weather was PERFECT for a flight in the sky. Zoryn said so. Anyways, when would her friends be coming??? She needed some company. Like. Now. Please???

A loud, excited voice cut through the sound of the rain and the flying instructor raised his head to see Miss Spinnet making her way across the pitch. ”Miss Spinnet! I’m glad you’re excited.” He smiled and was only vaguely aware of how her excitement bought herself some extra credit. ”Welcome to flying class, as soon as your classmates join us, we’ll be kicking off.” Hypeeeeeeeeeee.

...or something like that.

Taking her time in heading out to the pitch, with many stops and pauses for reasons, the blonde eventually arrived. NOT toting a broom or a bag. Nope. Olivia had only brought her wonderful self today (and an umbrella). Hey, if she didn't believe this about herself, who else would, amright?

"Professor B!" For his acrobatics, Liv bestowed her sweetest smile on him. Despite him being up in the sky. Yep, she was ready to spectate and enjoy the talents of her peers!

The second student to join in was Miss Phillips. A very talented flyer indeed but one he knew wouldn’t be on a broom that day, that she showed up nevertheless showed great spirit and passion. Once again, the flying instructor was impressed. ”How nice of you to join us, Miss Phillips. Welcome!”

She needed a change.

Which was why she found herself wandering towards the Quidditch Pitch, despite not generally choosing to attend flying lessons. She could ride a broom safely enough, but didn't have one of her own, and it wasn't something she'd generally taken much pleasure in.

But it was raining, and inside felt stuffy, and the Groundskeeper was cool...so why not?

An impervious charm or two later, and she was ready and pitchside. "Hey Mr. Baldvinsson!" she called up to the Groundskeeper in greeting. Oh, and Zoryn was there too. Sam grinned at the girl's excitement, glad she wasn't the only one braving the April weather. "What d'ya reck'n we'll be doing today?" Didn't seem like the best conditions for racing...

The flying instructor hovered past Miss Phillips to greet the next arriving student. ”Welcome to flying class, Miss Tyler!” A very good friend of Miss Umbridge. Yup. He knew stuff. ”Impervious charm, hmm?” Clever. He nodded to himself and hovered by her.

There wasn't even any charm on her '"flying-in-the-rain" appropriate clothes. She figured that if rain was meant to make playing Quidditch --and flying in general-- harder, then she might as well embrace it.

And so, she was. No impervius charm on her, thank you very much, apart from her goggles. The ability to see what you were flying into was still very much needed.

But maybe the rain had scared people away? There was a distinct lack of students around and Daisy smiled politely at all of them, even if she only really knew Olivia by name. The others were Junior Commentator of Task Three and Dora's Umbridge Person of Importance. And Olivia; the Gryffindor's presence did give her pause, being vaguely aware of what had happened (her boyfriend was very respectful of confidentiality agreements, but she had seen the state of his shirt that day), but ultimately she decided that fresh air was always good and so was exercise. Clearly, the blonde was feeling much better and that was a thing to be celebrated.

"Professor B!" She didn't have to look for him, having seen him fly around the pitch as she approached. It seemed perfectly normal to her that he would be flying already. In fact. She lowered her broomstick and kicked one leg over it. "Are we meant to join you, Sir?"

Please say yes.

Another talented and excited flyer joined them next on the pitch. He barely had time to greet her before she had mounted her broom. YASSS. GO! FLY! Fly all my children, FLYYY. ”I would want you to hold off on that, just a while longer until the rest of the class has arrived.” Not like she didn’t basically LIVE on the pitch anyway. Heh. ”We’ll be kicking off soon.”

Plus, Professor B always planned weird interesting stuff for them to do on their brooms.

The first year was a little surprised to see Miss Olivia here, but she gave the older girl a BIIIG smile all the same. She was glad that Miss Olivia still felt like coming out for flying lessons, even though Emmeline reallly hoped she'd be allowed to fly again soon. She waved to Zoryn and everyone else she knew before grinning up at Professor B: "Hiii, Professor B!" He always looked so happy kinda lying down on his broomstick like that.

The first firstie of the day approached them next and Haraldur hovered over to her, giving her an apprecitative nod. ”Welcome, welcome, welcome Miss Sparkes, yes, hello, welcome. Excited for another day of flying?” Because he sure was.

She’d just made sure she was prepared, swinging a bright pink umbrella from her hand as she’d made her way over to the pitch. It wasn’t raining hard, so she hadn’t felt like she needed the umbrella just yet. She’d given Emmeline a grin, though, falling into step beside her as her best friend had come from the direction of the barn. “How’s Sirius?,” she asked, curious as usual. She was planning on going over to see Dobby and Albus after the lesson after all.

She’d sent Liv a big grin, along with Zoryn, Daisy and the Ravenclaw girl who’d been there before her, before she’d looked up to see Mr. Baldvinsson up there on his broom like usual. Now for her other habit when it came to this class. “Góðan daginn, herra Baldvinsson!,” she called up to him. She’d already figured out he liked hearing Icelandic. It didn’t hurt to play on that a little, even if she knew she wasn’t a complete failure at flying either. Plus, it was practice.

Then he noticed the girl next to her, swinging a pink umbrella. Instantly he felt a smile grow. ”Miss Dalgaard-Volkova! Hvernig gengur [how are you]?” It always warmed his heart to see her and exchange a few icelandic words. Smitten.

Even if she wasn't sure she trusted Baldvinsson's judgment, after the 'Creaothceann' lesson. But he was the flying instructor and for that she approved of him.

It was going to rain. Not that it bothered her, as she'd flown in rain and it would be a good challenge for her.

Noting the Professor in his usual position, laying down on his broomstick, she smiled up at him and took note of Daisy who seemed ready to kick off and join him. Yes, please. Could they? Or at the very least, she supposed they could have some extra hovering time later?

Haraldur noticed another experienced flyer make her way across the pitch with her broom in hand and he gave her a nod. "Afternoon, Miss Diggory. Welcome to flying class." He hoped this lesson might pose a bit of a challenge to her. Time would tell.

But like...liiiiiiiiiike...if the man DIDN'T want them up on their brooms then he really shouldn't be on it himself, you know. It was a monkey see monkey do sort of situation and Derf really liked bananas. Derf was actually just about to do just that when Stasya's words caught his attention. "What does that mean?" he asked as he came to a sudden stop beside her, his heels digging into the pitch to do so.

YAS. Haraldur smiled at the young Hufflepuff when he ran as fast as his legs could carry him. "Mr. Ashburry-Hawthorne, welcome to another day of flying." He didn't really need to ask if he was excited. It was quite obvious. It was also quite obvious the flying instructor felt pride watching the kiddo.

She noticed the professor hovering above them, giving him the biggest and happiest grin possible. Yes, she was in an extremely happy mood.. too noticeable, was it?

"Hello, professor! Hope you're doing well today." Etta greeted cheerfully before joining her fellow classmates, giving them all a smile and a wave. She wondered if they had to join him.. but Daisy had already raised that question so she simply waited, wishing they could just start flying already.

"Miss. Kramer, welcome, welcome!" Haraldur hovered towards her to fly in one wide circle around the prefect.
"I'm very well, thank you and you?" Hopefully excited for class to begin because the clock was ticking...

The Slytherin didn't even give a care that it looked like it was about to storm this afternoon because being able to hop on a broom was well worth any weather condition. Today, she had worn her special coat, which her Mama Fairfield had charmed with Impervius and other weather-resistant spells for rainy and stormy days like now. And she definitely had the perks of being Elise Fairfield's niece... or so Vivian would like to believe, but it worked sometimes when getting VIPs and all.

Skipping towards the pitch, Vivian beamed and waved at the Groundskeeper who was already flying! "Hi, professor!" The Slytherin greeted him and went over to stand next to Skylar. "Were we supposed to join you up there?" Okay, so she was excited. It was too evident. Could they fly now?

Haraldur left the Hufflepuff prefect to hover towards the next arrival. "Hello to you, miss Fairfield." Haraldur was always flying. Always. Being on the ground was just not for him. "In a minute or two, miss Fairfield. It's almost time to begin."

After greeting Miss Fairfield the flying instructor glanced past her up to the castle. With one swift wand movement, the large gates to the pitch swung closed.

"Welcome to today's flying lesson." The instructor didn't have to use sonorus to get his voice to carry above the sound of the rain. He rarely used that spell actually. His voice was booming enough as it was. "I'm glad to see you're all excited for this lesson, in spite of the weather." The old man, in his leaned back position, hovered around the group while he spoke. Now and again he ruffled his feathers to get the rain out of them. Yes, he ruffled them. "I could have had this lesson inside, in one of the class rooms or in the Great Hall to avoid the weather." He grinned at them. "But then what's the fun in that?" Twinkle, twinkle EYE TWINKLE.

"If you can't fly properly in the rain, then you can't really fly. I for one, don't want to be controlled by the weather."

As he spoke, the rain carried on with no sign of stopping any time soon. t was quite the opposite.

"Has anyone flown in any less than favorable weather condition? How did you experience that?" He clasped his hands on his tummy well defined chest muscles hidden underneath loads of clothes. "If you haven't, what do you imagine is different? What would you have to be extra careful with?"

OOC: ilyilyilyILY! <3
All right, answer Haraldur's question on how the weather can affect your flying. Don't hold back on the creativity! Late to the party? Jump in as if you've been here all along, I won't tell on you.

You have 24 hours to answer this question. Class will move on tomorrow evening 18th of July 7 pm GMT +2.
