With everything going on, especially going on so close to her, Stasya had started to worry that she’d forgotten what the next step in the activity was. Even as Skylar had ran off toward the Beetle and she’d heard Vivian scream, Stasya had just sat there staring at the spot where she’d buried her seed. As if she expected it to talk, to tell her what she was supposed to do. Or maybe it would tell her that everyone was going to be okay and that the pixies had left. The only thing that actually happened was that she’d glanced at her bracelet to see that it was still glowing. Even it was waiting, which was beginning to make her panic. She just didn’t know what she was supposed to do, and it wasn’t in her notes.

She had been about to give up and just starfish on the ground, hoping that everybody, pixies included, would just not notice her at all in her failure to remember the last part of the activity when she’d heard the headmistress speak again. Mostly just telling everyone the galdr again, which she didn’t need. She had her glowy bind rune, but it was the last part that had caught her attention. Herbivicus. She’d grinned a little and turned her attention back to the spot where her seed was buried, taking her wand out. Pointing it at the spot, she performed the spell, concentrating as best she could on what she wanted it to do. “Herbivicus!”

It wasn’t really fast, but a tiny little sapling had poked up out of the ground and started growing. As she had noticed movement out of the corner of her eye and seen Emmeline running toward the headmistress. Now what was going on?
