Default pixies, Zoryn and everything else equals a distracted Stasya lol
Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict

She had thought about following the others’ example and greeting Professor Myers, but before Stasya could decide, she’d noticed the headmistress speaking to him. Of course, she was curious now, but then the attention had gone back to the lesson and she’d had to listen carefully as the new set of instructions was given. That had stopped her from doing much else but scramble for the parchment she’d been scribbling notes on earlier to write things down, sitting on the ground in the dirt, so she wouldn’t have to try to remember it all once it was time to try it out, and she’d added a little sketch of the bind rune as they’d been shown it. Plus, she panicked a moment that she couldn’t remember how to carve the runes into the bracelet. Luckily, she’d remembered it after a second, giving Emmeline and Derf grins as they’d chosen spots near the creature barn too.

Except, before she’d been able to slip the bracelet off her wrist so she could cast the Intaglio spell on it, both Zoryn happened along with pixies appearing out of nowhere and attacking Skylar. With wide eyes, she’d looked in the older Slytherin girl’s direction, since she’d seen both Derf and the headmistress go over to find out why Zoryn had been screaming. Had anyone else noticed the pixies? Besides the Ravenclaw prefect, and her. Pointing a wand at them wasn’t going to do much, but the first year tried her hardest to focus on the lesson. As long as the pixies didn’t come after her, she thought she could manage the spells.

Slipping the bracelet off her wrist, she tried to find the best place to put the bind rune on it, and then pointed her wand at the spot. “Intaglio Berkana,” she said, trying to focus on the rune. Except it looked sort of wonky by the time it finally was inscribed on the bracelet, after a few attempts. Time to move on to the next one.

“Intaglio Inguz.” More focusing, and more trying not to be too discouraged when the spell didn’t work right away. Eventually the rune carved itself over the Berkana rune, still looking kind of wonky but she hoped it would still work. Maybe if all three were wonky it would balance out? And she was going to blame the pixies if it didn’t.

So now it was time for the last rune. “Intaglio Jera!” She tried to focus on the rune, but it still seemed like it took forever before it appeared on the bracelet. Plus, it was just as crooked as the others. At least the whole thing looked like a crooked version of the image the headmistress had shown them, so she could hope that meant it would work. Except she had to go back to her scribbled notes for the chanting thing. Galdrs were hard.

Still, after checking her notes, she tried it. “berkano berkano berkano, ingwaz ingwaz ingwaz, jera jera jera, bub a bi be bo, ung ang ing eng ong, j j j e e e r r r a a a”… Was Zoryn okay? Was Skylar okay? Did the pixies go away? She was definitely distracted, so she had to repeat the galdr lots of times before she finally got a faint glow from the bracelet. And she repeated it once more just to make sure it was going to stay activated.
