Ooh, so Demiguises were like cats in that they didn't care for baths or probably water in general. Skylar jotted down that feedback in response to shampoo, along with the suggestions about inhumane methods. Not that she would have reason to collect demiguise hair inhumanely, but somehow knowing both sides to how do something seemed pertinent for exam material.

Having still held the bamboo leaf with her left hand while she was writing, it wasn't until she felt a tug that she glanced over and noticed the demiguise was right by her, almost making the fourth year jump. But fortunately she kept her cool, and gently slide her notes into her bag to focus on the magical creature before her. "Hey there," she whispered gently ... Uh, what had Wayland just said about males and females and private parts were on the outside? While she definitely understood basic anatomy, she was young still and hearing a professor talk about that seemed weird. And simultaneously made her want to giggle about it. But she had a demiguise to brush, so more intense giggle fits would have to wait until the lesson was over and the fourth year bit her lower lip to keep from an inappropriate outburst.

Male, female, honestly, it was all the same and didn't really matter in terms of brushing, did it? So Skylar didn't look. Instead she released the bamboo leaf to let her demiguise gnaw at it, while she picked up one of the plastic brushes and began brushing...

The hair just gently seemed to comb off well enough. And for the most part, it felt like she was brushing her own hair. Or Evelyn's, since the small child's hair sometimes got a little knottier than her own. "Ssh, there, there," she consoled, at a knot, holding the creature gently with one hand while she worked the brush through. Almost. At least for one of the knots. The second knot she came to, when her bucket was half full, apparently it was a more intense knot because despite her wiggling techniques to get the brush to pull through, it wouldn't budge.... It was just stuck. "Errr..." her agitation was growing, but she was fiercely determined to keep her cool. Reaching for her wand to remove from its holster, the fourth year cast "Aguamenti," figuring the small stream of water would ease up some of the knot.

Up... down ... sideways, she wiggled the brush, but it just wouldn't go through, and the wetness? Didn't help. Actually, all the moving around on the demiguise's hair combined with the water, the creature did something Skylar did not anticipate and actually dreaded mildly. It darted off.

"Uh ... Professor, my demiguise ran away. With a brush in its coat. Isn't there some sort of untangling charm to use to have used in the instance of severe knots?" They were witches and wizards, were they not?

But she had to get it back, even if she did have a half full thing of hair, leaving a brush in its coat was probably not humane. So the fourth year grabbed some more bamboo leaves, knowing its affinity for them and darted off in the direction it ran, wishing she'd given it some sort of name. At least she would know it when she saw it, from the brush in its coat.
