He paused with a sigh, "Many, many years ago it used to be allowed to capture a Demiguise, kill them, and skin them for their pelts. In fact on the black markets, which yes they are still around, it still happens. Not as frequently, and any cloak making company owner found dealing in pelts can be sent Azkaban. The problem is catching them." He was sure there were many ministry officials that were on the hunt as they spoke for people illegally dealing in creatures.
Today they were taking the very humane route. "So, as you all know, these Demiguise here with us today are from a sanctuary. At the sanctuary the use natural shedding and brushing to collect their hairs and send them to cloak making companies who give them money so they can get whatever supplies they need for the creatures there." He paused to give his friend another bite of peaches. "Today is brushing day." He grinned. "So, I owled the sanctuary and asked them if they could use a little help and the were greatly appreciative that we would offer some assistance." With a flick of his wand, brushes and plastic containers for their hair flew from behind the blackboard and landed next to each student. "Your final task for today is to brush the Demiguise and harvest their hair. When your container is full you are done for the day." He smiled, picked up his own brush, and began brushing the Demiguise, it slowly closed it's eyes and rested against Tristan's chest, making happy little noises. "They are much like cats...they loved to be brushed." Oh one more thing, "If you come to a knot, please be gentle otherwise you will have to lure the creature back to you. They tend to be a bit tender headed." Tristan continued to brush his little friend, hoping his students would be gentle.
OOC: Alrighty y'all! This is your main activity! In pairs or individuals, brush the Demiguise to harvest their hair. You have until the 12th at 11:59 PM EST. You may make as many posts as you want! But most importantly, have fun!
