Post 4 Gryffindor for life Notorious Niffler On Valentine's Day morning, Emmeline was up super early and bounding down the grounds towards the nursery barn. She was really excited for today, because it was a Hogsmeade weekend and she was going there with James Summers! She was also planning on looking all over the village for some special cruppy treats for Sirius, but for now she had some bacon bits wrapped up in a napkin for him. Everyone should get a treat on Valentine's Day, yup. The first year bounced into the barn and closed the door tightly behind her, grabbing all her usual Sirius stuff before heading over to her cruppy's kennel. "Good morning, Sirius! Happy Valentine's Day!", she told him in a kind of singsong voice. She was so excited for later, yeah, but she was also really excited that she had time to see Sirius before she had to go back to the castle to get ready.
She did the usual feeding and watering routine with her cruppy, and only when Sirius had eaten alll of his healthy cruppy food did she bend down to his level and feed him the bacon bits from her hand. Emmeline giggled 'cause his tongue was all slimy and he kept licking her hand after he'd eaten all the bacon like he thought there was more. "That's all, silly -- whoa!" Sirius had just flat-out jumped on her and was now licking her face! Emmeline fell over from her half crouched position in a fit of giggles, which only made the cruppy lick her face MORE. "Okay, okay. I love you too, Sirius," she gasped dramatically -- to make him wag his tail even more than he already was -- and gently pushed him off her. What a silly cruppy! He'd grown even more since Christmas, it seemed like, although it also felt like he wasn't growing as fast as he had done before the holidays.
Emmeline checked her watch and let out a small gasp of surprise. She didn't have a super lot of time today, since she had to go get ready for her thing with James and all, so she played a quick game of tug-of-war with Sirius before leading him outside the nursery barn to do his potty business. She vanished the potty stuff and led her cruppy back to his kennel. "Bye for now, Sirius! I'll see you later -- or tomorrow! Wish me luck!", she chirped as she rushed to put cruppy stuff away and head back to the castle. She was super careful to close the nursery doors behind her, though. Today was turning out perfect so far! |
