Will was amused by the spirited little Hogwartian sitting next to him and commentating this round with him. It was impressive that she was so young but willing to take on all this attention. Or maybe not, since she was shamelessly self-promoting. All the more entertaining, if you asked him. Personally, Will didn't love the spotlight, unless he was on a broom, but he couldn't turn down an opportunity like this. He couldn't turn down the Moxley.
He pointed his wand at his throat and cast an unspoken Sonorus to make him nice and loud. "Thanks, Zoryn! And I'm William Healy, your Ilvermorny announcer. It's a nice spring day out here, but Z-baby here is right... it's hellaciously cold wherever our poor IMPS candidates have landed. Looks like most of them are just trying to keep warm, with some creative attempts."
Some more creative than others. It didn't go unnoticed that some of them were really struggling with the weather, while others were just toughing through it, magically or otherwise. It was hard to tell what was the hardest on the candidates - the cold, the deep snow, or the blasted wind blowing them around like ashes out of a dead campfire.
Oh, right, he should say some of this outloud, right? Will checked his cards with all the candidates names scribbled out. "Some creative snow removal out there. The Hogwarts Heartthrob, Levi Kenning, is vacuuming up the snow like its a house elf's holiday to Aspen, but it seems to be working out for him. The other Gryffindor, Dora Umbridge, has done something to her shoes, and she's doing a great job moving around in all that snow. Meanwhile, Valerie Gray, who I honestly thought was at home on the tundra since she's the snow queen herself, is going a bit blue, in spite of her traveling patch of sun. Nice trick, for those who selfie best in natural light. Looks like Kyle Baker opted for a traveling patch of sun too, but only after putting on quite the fashion show for those of us at home. Hope he remembers we can see him... don't take anything else off, dude!"
It was actually a bit hard to see what was going on with the swirling snow and wind on the screen, but Will leaned in until he was nose to pixel. Right. "Not sure what Louise Hamilton is doing, but man, she looks amazing doing it. I'd watch her do nothing any day of the week. Not so with Brent Westwood and Jesús Rodriguez... those dudes are on the move! Not sure where they think they're going, but at least they look confident doing it. Glad to see that, since Jesús looked like he was gonna fly away like a kite for a minute there."
It did seem like not much was going on, but at least they weren't freezing their butts off watching nothing happen. And why weren't the stands just crowded with people cheering on these candidates?
