| HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED
Melbourne removed the sheet from her dummy and began carefully examining it. Sure, she knew that some of the bones in the body were incredibly small so if the poor thing were missing bones in its skull then…well, there was a possibility they would goo missed…wait, what if it were something more serious? She considered before putting her gloves on. ”Professor, is there a chance ours may have more than one ailment?” she asked one gloveless hand had been raised into the air with ease and now as her question was asked she lowered it and pulled the glove onto her hand. Still even so, she didn’t bother to wait for Professor Canterbury’s answer as she began to examine the Dummy’s skull. Her fingers gliding over the frontal bones of the Dummy’s skull as she felt for any missing sections.
She then traced her fingers up the sides of the temporal bones and both sides of the skull at the same time. Each time her fingers brushed a new section her quick quotes quill was ready to etch out the notes she was going to need to take next. While it was obvious to her that the poor thing didn’t have Acne, obviously whatever her dummy had was far more serious than pus filled pustules on the face. After thoroughly examining the dummy’s skull and cervix – no not that, the neck you numpty. She had determined that there were no issues with the bones in the poor distressed things skull or in those regions.
Now, she needed to examine the inside of the poor things mouth. Perhaps a tongue depressor and a little bit of light would come a long way in finding if the tonsils were, you know…inflamed or whatever the word was that described when they were oooooooooh so painful and flu-y. ”accio tongue depressor” she muttered as she conjured what likely was one of Healer Reed’s many tongue depressors and carefully F O R C E D the dummy’s mouth open by pinching her fingers against the jaw and lightly tugging. Really, if the dummy were a person it would have probably been protesting at her nagging fingers. With a swift move she pressed the wooden stick against the dummy’s mouth and with her wand in one hand cast lumos into it’s mouth.
Ah…the poor things throat looked sore and well, rather unhappy. It was then, as she had the tongue depressor in its mouth that it happened, the wheezing cough the dummy was emitting wasn’t even half of the problem.. The worst of it was when the acrid stench of bile wafted up through its mouth.
Nope.
Nope. Ew…vomit was bubbling up the Dummy’s throat and with a swift move Melbourne had turned her dummy over so that the nauseating contents of the things magical stomach didn’t asphyxiate it.. She had heard of those stories from Thunder and Dustin when she was a kid, don’t leave someone on their back if their…something the words were foggily there in her brain but the idea of not letting the thing she was trying to cure die was at the forefront of her mind. ”So…looks like you have the flu? Possibly.” Melbourne shrugged and brushed her hands over the dummy’s head and nodded. Yep. There was a bit of a fever, poor thing was probably in pain and aching. She remembered how it had felt when she had caught the flu over winter break the year before. Totally not cute. She had looked like a swamp monster. With a quick wave of her wand and quietly muttered evanesco she had cleaned and banished the vomit from the dummy’s mouth and with another flick she had scourgify’d every other bit of nasty off of its poor body and blanket.. Sitting her dummy up she wrapped the blanket around the thing and proceeded to clean off her hands…right…was this thing muggleborn? Or muggle? She didn’t know.
Still opening her textbook she flipped to the recipe on Vaxifloo.
Still, what happened if this were black cat flu? There wasn’t anything in their textbooks about the cure for black cat flu! With her eyebrows knitting together the Gryffindor started to get to work.
