Well, other than outside of his family and Noah.
Only now the entire school knew. Not humiliating at all. Nope.
But aaaaaaaanyway....he was glad that she had accepted his offer. Not that he had any doubts she would and the 12-year-old was pretty set on his methods of woo-ing her through paper throwing to get her attention had something to do with it. It was hard to ignore.
Pulling open the door and totally forgetting the whole gentleman thing to hold it open for her too, he stepped inside the Three Broomsticks and immediately pulled out his red coin BAG to start counting his sickles. "I think I have enough for two butterbeers," he stated while giving the coins in his palm a recount.
Emmeline was not sure what to think about this whole Valentine's Day thing. She had been happy and excited when James had asked her, but then these weird butterflies kept flying all over her stomach any time it was just the two of them in these situations. Like the boat party and now. It was strange, but what was even weirder were the urges to giggle and smile a lot more. She was not a giggler. At least she hadn't been before James started...not seeming like a total troll all the time. She wondered when that had happened, but tried to put the thought out of her mind because it was not helpful at all.
The boat party had ended in disaster, what with James almost dying because of that stupid Jordan kid and all. She didn't want to think about that for long, either, only just enough to hope that today wouldn't end with more attempts on James' life. She had graciously finally accepted James' thing about her not getting revenge on Jordan for that whole incident, though it still made her super mad and feel like slapping Jordan at the very least. Not that that would be any fun--
Her vague thoughts of revenge on Jordan (that she wouldn't even act on) were cut short as she caught the door behind James before it managed to hit her in the face. It seemed like her getting hit was a regular occurrence around James, though at least it was usually parchment these days and not metal owl cages. She took a couple of steps inside the Three Broomsticks, wondering why the butterflies were suddenly back in her stomach. Emmeline tried not to squint at the Sickles in the boy's hand as he counted them (so she could count too), and offered: "D'you want me to give you half? It's only fair." She fished around in her pockets for her own coin bag, but decided to wait for his answer before she started counting Sickles. She wasn't sure why she paused, really, it just felt like maybe she should.
