A Poop * k8 * "Fanged Geraniums are wonderful. They're like pets...only they don't follow you around." He rolllllled his eyes slightly because ZELDA THE COLLIE would follow Paul anywhere. He was her person. Granted, he had brought her to Hogwarts for this reason, and he didn't MIND being followed around exactly, but it definitely got old sometimes. Milton was much better with the dogs, honestly.
Although, at her next comment, he raised an eyebrow. "I...have little idea of what you're talking about. Pretty sure Professors Moxley and Hawthorne just wanted to mingle the students, honestly." He smiled a little. "I know it must be difficult. But you are doing brilliantly." The smile was a bit sad, because Henrietta had been eliminated, but it was okay. He had other students to cheer for. His Hufflepuff heart would just have to deal. "Not everyone has a hidden agenda." Bless Paul. Naively believing in the good in people. "Your theory intrigues me, though. If you'd like to share..."
Paul turned to her....and decided to answer honestly her next question. About...leaving here. It was often something he wondered about. "The thing is...I was in retirement. Enjoying my quiet life at the vineyard with my private Greenhouses. Milton is a busy man. He's very business man like that, always wanting meetings and tastings and...whatnot." He leaned back on his elbows. "I was growing bored. Very...very bored. And I missed teaching...I taught for a long time in my younger days...older students, of course. And I missed Hogwarts and just..the opportunity arose and I couldn't pass it up. And I love it here. It's...It's home, that's for sure. Of course I think about leaving." He looked over at the geranium. "But I think I'd regret it too much. I love teaching, I love my students, and I just...yeah. I don't have leaving here soon in my mind at all. I guess you could say...I have my rough days where I just want to go home." He smiled though. "But the rewards far outweigh those feelings."
Who knew he'd be having a heart-to-heart with Dora Umbridge today.
