 SUMMER FOREVER
Etta headed back downstairs, the next part of the riddle running through her mind constantly. Attach and reattach.. If one was a Hogwarts item, the other must be an Ilvermony object, right? That made sense. She started to think about what she knew and had read about the American school. It accepted students from all over North America, it also had four houses, it was supposed to be one of the greatest magical schools in the entire world.. but not better than Hogwarts, of course. Ahem. But, she quickly brushed away those thoughts. They had nothing to do with what she had to find. She probably had to focus on it's history. What else did she know? The girl stopped at the bottom of the stairs, trying to think more.
Think, Etta. THINK. Their sorting.. She frowned, trying to recollect whatever she knew.. which wasn't much. The students had to step on to a Gordion knot.. WAIT. Th Gordion knot. She stood where she was, the frown deepening between her brows. Of course, she knew all about the Gordion Knot... the history of the gold brooch that Isolt Syre had run away with. The brooch that had belonged to her mother, Rionach Sayre. Thank GOODNESS that she knew something about Ilvermony, at least. All that reading hadn't been a waste. Moving on. She absently rubbed her forehead.. Um. The Gordion knot.. brooch.. didn't the Ilvermony students fasten their robes with that knot? As a symbolic gesture? ... and that was when she abruptly opened her eyes. Hang on.
What did the riddle say again? Small and beautiful, attach and reattach.. across the seas.. did it mean the brooch? Was she supposed to find THE brooch that was supposed to be in the shape of a Gordion knot? That made sense, though. What could be the possible location.. the stove, probably. Oh, how she hoped she was right. She quickly made her way to the small kitchenette, the excitement slowly making it's way to her face. She wasn't a hundred percent sure about the location, of course.. but it was just a hunch. She lit her wand and focused it on the stove for a moment before shifting the bright light towards the knob in the front. Maybe the brooch was tucked in there somewhere.. when suddenly she felt something close to her face. Another moth.. ugh! They seemed to be everywhere, didn't they? Anyway, back to the stove knob.. she paused for a moment before slowly reaching for the nearest one. Maybe Etta just had to turn it clockwise? ... was she right? Or was this another mistake on her part?
