Maybe that had been the inspiration behind Hirsch's last lesson. Things to idly consider on her way down to her common room, she supposed.
Because that was where she was going. Probably. The thing about being a sixth year was that she seemed to be in a sort of limbo. Professors (and parents -- well, Mother) were telling her that she needed to start her NEWTs preparation this year but all the fifth years and seventh years were, however silently and mostly through glares, telling her that her exam preparation wasn't the priority. Mister Kennedy was in it too, reserving study tables specifically for those years and letting the others to fight it out. Nevermind that she had actual exams at the end of the year too; the fact they weren't issued by the Ministry of Magic didn't make them less important.
Not that she cared but still -- it was a matter of principle.
That was why she was walking away from the library, not looking particularly happy. Why couldn't the library stay as it had been in the beginning of the term? Creepily empty and ready for adventures. Lazily, she was watching the portraits on the wall, bowing her head to the figures that greeted her and poking her tongue out at the rude ones, when her eyes fell upon the tapestry. Hmm. No one was around -- she had checked-- and the idea of going down to her Common Room was as unappealing as the idea of getting a Bludger to the head. What if one of the secret passageways of the castle --like the one rumored to lead to Honeydukes-- was hidden behind this old thing?
She didn't know if it was or not, but as she pulled the fabric to take a peek behind, she was definitely hoping the answer was affirmative. Henry had a bit of free time in his schedule today and while he'd normally be spending that kind of lucrative time outside, he was currently heading to the library, a place that he didn't normally frequent. Sure, he had spent a considerable amount of time there last year, but that was because it was his OWL year and he at least attempted to attend study groups when he could. But the library to Henry was one of those places that he was thankful it was around when he needed it, but largely forgotten when he didn't need it. It was just kind of boring and he usually had better things to do.
But today he actually needed the library and was on his way down the fourth corridor when a movement caught his eye. He had been past that tapestry probably a thousand times in the past five and half years, but after his first year hadn't given it a whole lot of thought or notice. He could see a person partially hidden by it as she was peering behind it, and that was enough to at least momentarily pique his curiosity. "Anything exciting back there?" he asked the figure as he approached. Oh hey, was that Carden? He had seen enough of the back of her head during flying trials to think he'd recognize it.
