SUMMER FOREVER

Etta paused for a moment, realising that she was wasting precious time but she had no choice. Might as well do this properly rather than mess it up in a hurry and end up losing altogether. She, once again, ran her fingers through the keyboard. She pressed every single key.. until she realised that she had been right. That one single key that didn't seem to sound like the rest of them.. the one near the end.. it seemed to make a completely different kind of sound.. like there was something probably underneath it. She pressed it a couple of more times just to make sure before pulling her hand away. The key was a little wiggly too but it wasn't loose enough to actually come off so she had to think. Now, what? Thoughts flooded her mind as she tried to think of her next plan of action. She obviously needed to see what the key was hiding.. but what she'd thought earlier crossed her mind. Was there actually a lever somewhere? Etta wasn't sure how that could be a possibility, though. Where on earth would she even find one? She would end up wasting more time trying to find one, anyway. Giving another frustrated sigh, she sat down on the moth-eaten seat. It had been a long time since she had played the piano last, yeah? Not that the present was the time to reconsider her non existent musical skills.

.. and then finally something crossed her mind. Magic, of course. She could try magic to pry that key open, yeah? That made total sense. It was simple and saved time. The girl shifted her wand to the other hand, trying to figure out what spell would help. She obviously didn't want to damage the piano so she needed to be careful. But.. she did try pulling out the key with her hands first but that didn't seem to work. So.. magic, it was. The girl decided to cast a light reducto, her wand focused on the piano. It would just break the key and enable her to access whatever it was that seemed to be hidden underneath. She wasn't entirely sure if that was the right way to go about it.. or maybe she was wrong AGAIN but there was no harm in giving it a try, anyway.

The anxiety was clearly visible on her face, fidgeting with the ends of her robe. This challenge had already seemed to go on forever. But so far, she'd managed somehow.. potion, the whomping willow, getting injured.. yeah, Etta had survived all of that but the riddle was just throwing her off completely. How was a simple riddle so confusing? Or were her thoughts moving in the right direction at all? And she still had another item to find once this was done.. she couldn't help but feel more nervous than normal. Or maybe she was just getting too worked up without reason. There were just so many doubts going through her mind.. that she was honestly beginning to doubt herself. She knew that was a mistake.. Ugh. Etta casted the spell and watched, heart in her mouth.. her eyes so wide, she probably wasn't even blinking. Oh, had it worked? Or was she going to have to try this over again?
