As expected, each musical note that rang out was discordant and eerie as it echoed around the bleak, dusty old shack. Naturally, the piano was completely out of tune, which made the whole affair seem somehow stranger, creepier, and--
Kyle blinked, and looked back down at the piano. That sound... surely he hadn't imagined it? With delicate precision, he moved his fingers back across the piano keys again, pressing them lightly until he found the offending party. Kyle pressed down on it again, listening closely to the sound, before repeating the process a couple more times, in quick succession. Definitely not imagining it.
Eyes now drawn to the top of the piano, Kyle set his parchment down on the keys and took hold of the lid of the instrument, wand (still lit with Lumos) held ready in his other hand, because he fully expected something to jump out at him, or something equally as disconcerting. Bracing himself, he lifted the lid of the piano and peered inside to the area that was more or less in line with the apparently broken key he had been pressing on the outside.
