Wowza! Levi wasn't necessarily confident with the poor displays of fire his attempts had done, but clearly Hirsch wasn't interested. It was admittedly a little difficult to concentrate when there were so many others around, or when the sight of his fellow students in the ridiculous fire suits was making him laugh. Which he had smoothly covered by also coughing into his fist, but the point was that he'd gotten distracted and wasted precious time watching over.
He shook his head at his own wandering eyes. A ring of fire seemed like a particularly interesting spell to master, not only for general usage--which was a strange thing to think, really, because just how often did the average person need to cast a ring of fire?--but also because of IMPS reasons. Though he'd done well enough for the first task, he hadn't lied when he told Hirsch that adrenaline had a lot to do with his performance. The Ministry official had always been there, right behind him, to make sure nothing actually happened to him but he hadn't known that; he'd acted on pure instinct and deep, settled need to survive. In his head, it'd been a matter of life or death--our soulless life, which amounted to the same thing, really--and he'd acted accordingly.
But Levi preferred to not have a dementor breathing down his face to be able to do things he normally would not.
When Hirsch lifted the blocks of ice, Levi was quick to claim one for his own by doing the whip-like motion and saying, "Lustro Circulus!"
