This was almost immediately followed by “Expelliarmus!” aiming at the Hufflepuff in hopes of causing the loss of either wand or shield.

Or if she was lucky…both.

To add to it, Cass cast a quiet but focused stinging hex in her opponent’s direction shortly after, figuring to cover her tracks should the other spell manage to be completely evaded. Better to have a back-up then simply have all your eggs in one basket.
