It's not that the sixth year made it a point to compare the two schools but, if he were completely honest with himself (which he most certainly was,) Ilvermorny surpassed Hogwarts in every way. Even the Beetle was far superior.

This only made Jesús frown, as he explored around the lower levels of the castle only to make his way up to the fourth floor. He hadn't meant to get that far up as he had been wrapped up in his thoughts throughout his walk. Jesús had also conveniently ignored any and all homework assignments for that week, because he was protesting half of his professors for some trivial reason that even he couldn't remember. It was all about the principle of the matter, though. When he paused in his gait, Jesús noticed that he was near the library. Surely, they would have a decent collection (something that would keep him preoccupied until he decided to acknowledge the unnecessarily large amount of work that he needed to finish) inside.

Jesús made his way inside, had spent a good amount of time searching for books, and made his way over towards the back. He was always grateful for secluded areas where he could sit in silence in order to think (and plot, mostly.) After placing the books on a table, he sat down and had decidedly plucked the first book from his pile and started to peruse through the table of contents.
Even if he had actually sort of missed the newness of his relationship with Daisy, Levi thought his break had been a pretty good one. He'd slept and eaten better than he'd had in months, and though there were some hiccups to his general happiness here and there (Takeru's pessimistic attitude, mostly) the sixth year couldn't say the bad outweighed the good. The break could have been at least a week longer, sure, but it'd come at such an opportune time that Levi had returned to the school in particularly good spirits.

Probably aided by the fact that his seventeenth candles were just around the corner, too, but. It wasn't like he had any specific plans, but it was certainly something to look forward to.

But the second challenge loomed in what was almost an immediate future and the day after returning from home, he found himself in the library. Levi collected several tomes before heading over to the nearest window, and the boy set them down on an already occupied table. A totally conscious move, to be sure; he'd been meaning to get to know some of his competition and Jesús was more or less at the top of the list. He appeared to be always contained and in total control, yet there was an intensity to his stance that had intrigued the Gryffindor boy. It was also possible that his interest was rooted on the fact that, along with Tejashree, the three of them were the splashes of color in the competition. But, who was thinking about that, really?

"Hi, Jesús." Levi's Spanish was at an intermediate level on his very best days, but he'd practiced the name a few times. And the name came out in the same inflection someone from the Iberian coast would. "You don't mind the company, surely?" He didn't look particularly pleased at the moment, but Levi sat down anyway, hands automatically reaching for his books. "I'm Levi, by the way. I've been meaning to talk to you."
