follow me; everything is all right.

All things considered, the Whomping Willow isn’t the only infamous subject in Hogwarts, in fact, its Scottish weather during the winter season is known to be brutal as well. It’s a good thing you wrapped up warm for your second challenge...you wouldn’t want to end up as an icicle...much like the ones you see hanging from the Willow’s branches. Did you notice?

Perhaps, you’d benefit greatly if you cast all your doubts and start believing your History and Herbology professors. Everything you’ve read and learned about the Whomping Willow in class is real, and you could consider yourself lucky to see it with your own eyes. Maybe, you should look at it again...see if something was amiss?

However, as you look at the ground for something to throw at the Whomping Willow, you stumble upon an upturned cauldron instead. Inside it was a note that says:

“Well, this isn't a hat. Get on with it! Make your way to the passage beneath the tree!”

Did you read the note right? Maybe…that answers your question about the tree’s knot, dear Ilvermornian. However, now is not the time to validate facts. As instructed, you have to make your way to the passage beneath the violent tree…but...how? In your hands is a cauldron, and a few steps away is a workstation to help you accomplish your first task. But…something was missing. Without warning, a gentle breeze from the west swept across the area, and the Whomping Willow twisted its left branch in protest, breaking off one of the icicles that hanged from it. Now on the ground is a broken phial which held a frozen potion ingredient.

Perhaps, now is the time to act. You do not want the Willow to break any more phial and contaminate the ingredients within...do you?

OOC: You can decide which Potion your character will retrieve and brew.
