h:150, m:150, f:15 Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight Today was actually super ultra mega exciting but also super ultra mega nerve-wracking, because ABEY was duelling a THIRD year. AND, not just ANY third year, but his actual real actually friend, Jessa Cambridge. It didn't matter at all to him that Jessa was older and therefore more experienced and therefore better at magic, because he really REALLY wanted the challenge. After last term and... everything that had happened... Abey NEEDED to become brilliant at duelling and fightin magic in case it ever happened again. He was OBSESSED with never being caught unprepared and unaware ever again.
And the best part about Duelling Club this term? Abey now FINALLY KNEW THE FINITE SPELL. Fiiiiiinally. That one was, like, mega important in duelling, sort of. Now... he only needed to cast a shield charm. THAT was something he had been meaning to talk to Hirsch about.
Except....... well...................
ANYWAYS. DUELLING.
When Abey and Jessa's time came to duel, Abey bounded forward, wand already in hand OBVIOUSLY. He gave a great extravagant bow just because, and fired off his first spell the second he had straightened again. "Colloshoo!"
Hoping that the effects Stickfast Hex - or perhaps the efforts to avoid it - would allow Abey some precious extra seconds, he then turned his wand on himself and cast the Featherlight Charm. THAT was a move that he had learnt from closely watching other duels last year; judging by how many people used it, it was definitely the way to go, even if it WAS mega predictable.
