She still wasn't getting over that any time soon. "Alas, although the beautiful boys are plentiful, no one has so much as offered." Insert overly dramatic sigh. Of course, it wasn't like she'd sought help, either, but Maesi could think that everyone had ignored her many wrong turns. Her friend didn't need to know that the idea of seeking help was embarrassing, and the idea of admitting to needing it even more so: no, she could feel sorry for the transfer and take pity that she wasn't exploring the Castle on someone handsome's arm.
"I'm hoping that by the end of the year I'll understand them better, but for now I'm just glad of an excuse to be late to class." Not that she often was, but luckily becoming friends with the dorm mates had helped in that respect. Flick still had no idea how they'd gotten used to the sudden, seemingly unpatterned jerks. "He might be. There's one on the third.... or fourth.... floor that apparently is, so I don't see why this one wouldn't be,too!" It was equally as weird looking, if slightly less creepy, she mentally reflected, thinking of the story Kane had told her. Maesi matched Felicity's sigh with an exaggerated shocked look. "Whaaat? I can't believe that. A gorgeous and mysterious stranger from across the pond, I'd have thought they'd be falling over themselves to show you around." What was the whole point of transferring if you couldn't get that perk? Not that Maesi was too surprised though. She hadn't gotten much of the royal treatment from any of the Brits either. And she had been so looking forward to that.
Maesi giggled at that remark. "That sounds like the excuse I use when I'm late for class. The Beetle has these mazes of hallways and.." She lowered her voice and leaned in conspiratorially. "Don't tell anyone, but I've mastered them pretty well now. I still say I got lost though, just to be a few minutes late." It was a life-saver in the morning when she needed a few more minutes of sleep.
Her giggles over that revelation turned into a gasp when Flick had a revelation of her own. "So there really is a secret passage on the third.. or fourth? floor?" It didn't seem like Felicity was exactly sure, but that mentioning was good enough for her. "Well, how does it work? How do we get this guy to work?" She needed to know these things! Maybe they could sneak out or find a hidden room to have an exclusive party!
