...such thoughts were probably why he was left utterly confused with what the professor had said in response to his question cause...huh? Derf wasn't entiiiiiiiiiirely sure he understood what Professor Vance was getting at in her reply to him. Extra heat? He hadn't meant like...putting one of the creatures over the FIRE or anything. They TOOTED fire...
But anyway...they were moving along and Derf was not distracted by thoughts of salt. Which...well...he knew it was always on the table at dinner time? But what else... OH! "Some magizoologists say that the saltiness of water is an indicator of just how aggressive the merpeople living in said water are!"
Which...well...didn't help with fire at all since merpeople lived in WATER and those two elements just made steam when combined. Mostly.
