Miss Olivia was crying, and Emmeline didn't know why. She wanted to go over and see the older lioness, maybe give her a hug, but Professor Stewart seemed to have the situation in hand. Besides, if she was crying in class, she wouldn't want too much attention drawn to that, so she decided to get back in line instead of going over.
The first year was glad that she'd kept both of her conjured daggers, because it meant she had two already ready to throw. She'd thrown the incomplete one already, so it was a simple matter of going back to her seat and picking up the good one. It was the next turn around that she was worried about, because she'd have to make a new dagger for that. Emmeline felt that these lines seemed to get shorter the second time around. Was it just her?
As she finally approached the board, Emmeline paused to watch it for a few seconds. She wasn't going to let it trick her into throwing her dagger into the wrong color hole again, nope. Not that she could do anything about it if the board changed colors, but she was trying to see if there was a pattern to the color changing.
After a couple of seconds, the Gryffindor still couldn't work out any particular pattern. Instead, she waited until a hole near the middle just turned red before aiming and releasing her dagger towards it. Score! She'd got it in the red hole!!
