Question about if the smoke coming from the giant bonfire over by where most of the others were still making Stasya curious, she had found herself suddenly more between Jessa and the others at the lesson when Professor Vance had confirmed this fire wasn’t a magical one like the ones in Transfiguration had been. But she’d also gotten kind of distracted by the appearance of the groundskeeper and the warmth that she could still feel from the fire even being further away than the others. So distracted that she’d nearly jumped when she had suddenly realized Emmeline and Derf had appeared out of nowhere, and she’d felt herself blush a little.

Especially when she’d heard Emmeline ask Jessa about the smoke and if that was the problem, and then Derf had suggested a bubblehead charm. It was like everyone was paying way more attention than her and she almost missed hearing the actual question asked for the lesson. Pyromancy?

“I think you can use any kind of flame for pyromancy. Like, you could use a candle or something that’s lots smaller than a big bonfire,” she suggested, glancing back at Jessa with her answer too. Because candles had to make less smoke so that made them safer. Plus, she’d found herself looking at Derf again with his answer. Divination by skrewt? In a weird way it sounded like it made sense.
