She'd be even better when they could get things started...
....
The steady warmth from the fire was warming her limbs up as she stood next to the fire pit and waited for more students to arrive and a special guest too. It would have been bad manners to not invite the groundskepper to the lesson when he lived on and managed the grounds. Laurel had another reason for inviting him too. He could assist if what she had planned got out of hand.
As the elderly man arrived bundled up in a nice and warm fur coat Laurel flashed him a bright and warm smile. "Good morning Mr Baldvinsson! It is indeed a beautiful crisp morning. Are you ready to assist?"
:::::
Stealing a glance at her wrist watch Laurel decided that it was high time to start the lesson. She had no door to close but she assumed that the students who showed up late would have the manners to slip in quietly and take a seat. If they did not then she'd of course give those students a piece of her mind.
With a smile pursing on her lips where stood next to Haraldur she said with her eyes travelling over the assembled students faces. "Welcome to another lesson in the noble art of diving the past, present and future! It pleases me greatly to see that you've all dressed in warm winter gear or this would have been a very miserable and cold lesson to sit through." It was never fun to freeze.
Now why this location for the lesson? "We are out here this morning in the crisp wintery december air because we're going to have a lesson on Pyromancy; fire divination. Depending on the variant of fire divination that we are going to be focusing on today i felt it neccessary to move the location of our class from a stuffy and cramped classroom to the airy grounds."
Laurel paused her to give the student's time to register and react to her words and also show that they were paying attention. "We're going to broaden our understanding of Pyromancy today but first can everyone give me one fact that they know about Pyromancy/fire divination?" OOC: Hello everyone! Welcome to the second Divination lesson of the term i'm so excited and glad to see you all here. If you have yet to post and wish to do so then please post as if your character has been there all along. Unless of course you want to show up late and cause a little scence.
Laurel wants to know 1 fact that your character knows about Pyromancy/fire divination. Try not to repeat answers please and all answers are always accepted both correct and incorrect. The lesson will continue in approximatley 24 hours from this post.
She turned pink when Professor Vance had seen her ungraceful slip on the ice. Merlin. She had seen it? Now she wondered who else had seen it. The Gryffindor became a little bit more self-conscious for a moment before relaxing once more. "
It's alright thank you. A little sore but alright," she mentioned with a small smile. She'd have a bruise but bruises eventually went away... with time. Once she had taken a seat, she noticed the Groundskeeper was here. He got a nod.
Then class had begun and they were learning about Pyromancy. Fire Divination? Incredible! She had always loved the idea of being able to read messages through fire. A fact about Pyromancy. She raised her hand to offer a fact. A historical one because she felt more comfortable with that."
Professor, I believe pyromancy was named a "forbidden" art, along with necromancy, during the renaissance period."
