| post 1: miss Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict Stasya had still been looking at her dagger when Professor Stewart had spoken and continued the lesson. Explaining the activity, and she widened her eyes at the announcement that they were going to be throwing their daggers. Part of her didn’t want to throw hers, mostly because she wasn’t sure it would even survive. She’d put a lot of work into making it and she didn’t want it to shatter into a million pieces. Plus, she wasn’t sure if she’d manage to make a better one, but she’d still gotten into a line when they’d been instructed to. Arguing didn’t seem like it would really work, and it wasn’t creature-related so she didn’t know if she wanted to argue anyway. It was easier to just convince herself that she’d managed to make one dagger, so that meant she could make more.
Skylar had gone, followed by Jessa and Etta. Even though none of them were in her house, she’d sort of wanted them to make it into the right holes. Or a red one, since that’d mean Gryffindor got a point. But mostly she’d just wanted them to succeed. She wanted someone to so she knew what it was supposed to look like, but also she just wanted them to succeed. And her face fell when they didn’t, besides Jessa having gotten it into a green circle. It didn’t make her any more confident that she’d manage, with her dagger that felt lighter than her wand even.
But she’d squared her shoulders as she stepped up to the line, eyeing the board and the changing colors of the holes. It seemed awfully far away, but she was still more afraid she’d hit something other than the board. That her dagger would break into a million pieces and somehow those would hurt someone. She wasn’t going to know unless she tried, and she focused on one circle in the board and tossed her dagger at it, hoping beyond hope that she’d make it and her dagger wouldn’t break. But, the dagger fell just short, bouncing off the board just below the hole and falling to the ground.
At least it didn’t break?
