Derf slouched down in his seat with the Extendable Ear and POUTED. There was an 'S' in the spell. Which meant he was doomed. With his eyes just barely peering over his robes which had now bunched up around his face from the slide, Derf watched his classmates perform the spell with varying levels of success.
He should...probably...try this then. Which meant practicing the incantation until he was blue in the face really.
"Fumus-s-s Lamina," he squeaked. "Fumus-s-sssss Lamina...Fumus-S-SSSssssSSSS Lamina...Fumus-s Lamina."
Er....at least the wand movement was simple enough?
