Honestly she hadn't given Maddox another look and she felt HORRIBLE for kissing him in front of Blakeney. Honestly, what was she thinking? Did she really think it would make Khalil jealous? HELLO, he was here with a gorgeous date so obviously, he didn't need another girl. She really just wanted to leave and go back to the beetle, pack her bags and go home. She could be there for Christmas then and Maesi would be fine without her. She was so popular and well liked.
Her eyes moved first to Blakeney and then to Khalil. She didn't want to explain in front of him and she didn't want to give anyone the benefit of the doubt that she was upset, though her wet hair, face, and dress had to show she wasn't happy. "I'm sorry Blakeney, I don't know what happened. Maybe the music in there had some kind of charm on it to make you kiss someone." Sorry Hogwarts, but she wasn't hurting her best friend, so she'd blame it on them.

She looked at him for a moment, [b] "I thought we were just friends, I mean you know I want more, but I'm not that type of girl. You know that. I'm not going to officially be with someone who is officially or not with someone else. Her heart hurt right now. She didn't like feeling this way, this was why she didn't get involved with any boys since Brent. She had stayed away from these feelings and for good reasons.
Jumping about a foot when Maddox screamed to Kathleen and she blushed. Why the heck did she do that. Oh she was going to regret that for awhile, wasn't she? Between Blakeney now upset with her and Maddox never forgetting it, yep regret was setting in.
She was heading out when she heard him say to wait so she turned and looked at him. Her eyes moved from Kathleen to him as they spoke. "Really I do need to get dried off. Will is waiting for me in the ballroom." Okay so maybe that was a lie, but no one needed to know he wasn't her date until she was at least back to the beetle. Then Will could show off his date and everyone will know she just lied to get the hell away.
