he tried super SUPER hard to communicate with her to pleeeeeease do something to draw attention to his small frame. To his glee, the abraxan rose up on her hind legs and stretched her wings out wide while whining LOUDLY on his behalf.
Someone please come unfreeze him? #SaveDerf So Skylar had just been standing around waiting for the Headmistress to officially dismiss the lesson, as it was nearing a close, when she heard it. It was vague, due to the distance, but do the distance, she was sure it wasn't her imagination. Loud whining. A horse's whining. Someone was in trouble. She glanced around at those in class to see if she could spot someone missing, someone who had been there before, but wasn't there now, when she realized it ... because how could she NOT realize the familiar blond head of a second year hufflepuff was missing. "Derf's missing," she said automatically, and without waiting she re-entered the fenced area, clutching her pendant around her neck, she approached Rose again, who hadn't wandered too far off. "Ehwo ehwo ehwo, e e e e h w o o o, ehwu ehwa ehwi ehwe ehwo, ehwo ehwe ehwi ehwa ehwu, e e e e h w o o o." she chanted, to re-activate the rune, the pendant glowing the familiar shade of white as it had before, probably because it wasn't all too long ago.
Mounting the horse again, she flew off back towards the forest edge, in search of the whining, which didn't seem to take too long as there was only one horse present. And one small child. Her heart pounding, when saw him, immobilized. "Derf," she whispered, the horse beneath her sensing where to go and landed beside Ambrosia.
He was hurt. "Finite incantatem," she cast, unsure if he was hurt or struck by a charm, but at least it would end the magic. Kneeling beside him, she whispered, "Do you need me to help you onto the horse?" She wasn't much bigger or stronger than him, but maybe the magic evoked within the rune would allow the horse to move lower to the ground and with her support, she could aid him onto the horse's back. And she would obviously ride with him.
She just needed him to make some sort of indication. Hopefully.
