As she was stroking the horse, she noticed out of her periphery that her classmates were already way ahead of the game, which meant she would be left to her own devices on cutting down and bringing back a tree. Ah well, she had the trust of Rose, it seemed, and she was mostly competent with her spellwork at least up until this point in her magical education.

"Okay, Rose, Time to go," she spoke quietly, as she pulled herself up onto the winged horse. It was just like flying a broom, except on a flying creature instead. Smiling as she allowed the wind to flow through her hair, she realized again why she enjoyed flying and how much she missed it when she wasn't partaking in the activity. Yes it was cold and the pastures were snow covered, but the warming sensation in heart from the passion of an activity she enjoyed, was well worth it.

Guess it was time to pick a tree. Squinting at the choices, she found a tree with quite large branches. Branches that when stood upright instead of the horizontal way they were presently on the tree, could easily pass for being a tree of its own. Without actually killing a tree. "Diffindo," she said swiftly, her wand aimed at where the branch met with the trunk and the branch sliced cleanly off. Except, one issue. The crash. From when it fell to the ground.

Scanning it, it seemed fortunately mostly unscathed, and upon seeing the green sparks from the Headmistress figured it was no time to waste in getting another one. "Carpe retractum" she cast, allowing her wand to form an invisible rope to pull the branch behind her. "Come on Rose. Let's go."

At that, the horse took off back towards the barn where they left from and landed swiftly in time to hear the woman give off instructions. After depositing the branch!tree where designated, she then dismounted Rose inside the fenced area. "Thank you," she pressed her lips to its side. Precious horse, this one was.

Listening as the headmistress closed the lesson, she blinked thoughtfully. What did she learn? How could she use Ehwaz in the future? Wouldn't she need a horse to use it in the future? She hadn't worked with anyone except the creature, so she couldn't apply the teamwork example to her classmates, and yet .... "I think Ehwaz could be used in future endeavors, because it helps to create that," she hesitated a moment, thinking of her words. "bond with species that are not ourselves. Yes, we can all related to each other, because we're all human and speak the same language, but to be able to connect to something that doesn't speak our language, well, that's magic."
