She had heard Maddox and gave him another quick look. "Find me later." She'd explain it to him maybe or maybe she could just hide from him too. She was now just staring at the machine. Stupid machine had to spray her with water IN FRONT OF KHALIL!!!! Could her night get any worse? Then she heard him say her name and her heart raced, it always raced when he was near. He just looked so cute and her mind didn't want to think clearly when he was around.
She didn't turn to face him though, no, she didn't want him to see that she was holding back tears or that her face now was probably smeared because the water screwed up her makeup. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Are you dating her?" She wanted the answer before anything else, she had to know if he was with her. Had he been with her the entire time, though she knew he had but was it official. She took a glance at Kathleen and her lip might have wibbled just a bit. Had she just been another girl or a number? No, he wouldn't have lied to her and he didn't. She knew about this, but she had blocked it out. He made her feel special and she blocked out the thought of anyone else, he was right she got even more attached. She was the one that complicated things.
Finally, she looked at him "I knew you hadn't asked me and I figured you asked someone better. Kathleen is a good pick, she's fun." Rarely did Madelyn talk bad about anyone and this was not going to be one of those times. She did like Kathleen, she just wished the girl didn't like the guy she liked so much. "I guess when I saw you just now it just well reality set in and I didn't want to bother you two with your fun. "
Getting off her chair and pulling a wet strand of hair behind her ear that had fallen from her updo she picked up her purse. "I think I'm going to go use the restroom and try to dry off. You have a fun night though."
